What can I say yes its cheap needs to be its about the only thing in its favour. Ale quality is not a patch on what it was a few years ago the current management don't seem to have the skill to keep it in good order. Plus Trying to get served in here is a joke most the time as staff never know who is next even when they do they prefer to just blank you and serve people they know. Not one of the best run spoons and its too dull and dreary. Prefer Turnpike Lane or Palmer's Green ones.

Second Wetherspoons of the day and this one is most likely a shop conversion, with a large single room. The Tally Ho in North Finchley did at least have a little character with different rooms. Ales were Ruddles Best, Jennings The World's Biggest Liar, Cotswold Spring OSM, Adnams Ghost Ship, Itchen Valley QED & Hampshire Rose & Greene King Abbot. Cider was Westons Wyld Wood & Cider Twist Mulled Cider.

I came in here on the way to football in Cockfosters on Thursday evening, my first visit to Southgate and to this ‘spoons.

It was pretty busy at 6.15pm when I walked in. 2 bar man ready and waiting to serve me my selection from the 10 hand pumps on the bar which were dispensing 10 different beers...my choices were Everards Original @ 5.2% and Saint Archer (USA) Pale Ale @ 5.5%.

Both pints were excellent and as always with Wetherspoon’s you cannot fault the prices.

This is an older style spoons, it’s friendly, has quick service is in a great location being close to the station so for me all in all it's a very decent option for a pint or 2.

Thursday night is curry night and the food looked better than your normal ‘spoons fair….I like this pub and will return as my football match was postponed.

Well what can I say we used to go here a lot after work for a few drinks and occasionally some food but the standard of service has gone down hill rapidly it appears in the past year most the pleasant polite and well trained staff have left and gone elsewhere. Now all that’s left is mostly the ill mannered staff that just stands there looking pretty. Most don’t even have a clue who’s next or have any idea how to pull a pint of Ale because there scared they might break a Nail. Whilst I don’t expect perfect manners a please or thank you wouldn’t go a miss now and then.

Have to agree with the last poster - this place has really deteriorated in recent months. The tables are never cleaned and there are some staff (plump girl/blonde ponytail) who consistently serve short pints and then start harrumphing when you ask for a top-up.

It's a sad state of affairs when the only place for miles around that serves anything other than GK IPA/Pride/DoomBar/Abbott etc is a decaying Wetherspoons.
