Awesome location, owned by Robinsons, nice beer, only had Unicorn myself but there were three on. Soiled only by careless bar staff, tourist trap but should care more and value the qualities of this special pub.

An odd one this...pleasant enough beer and a good range. Found the pub to be raucous and full of teenage girls wearing next to nothing, and this was a t 5PM! But that aside it was ok. My only gripe would be with the dis-interested barmaid called Sara, who wanted to spend more time talking to her colleague than looking at the queue of punters waiting to be served!

Interesting place as others have said.

I didn't try the food but the one ale I had was fine.

The staff were friendly and chatty, but it was an otherwise quiet time.

My local...even though I live over 80 miles away. I agree that the regulars come first but that's not a bad thing, at least for the locals! It's regulars that keep pubs afloat in these days of austerity. Great beers, especially the Double Hop and the food is excellent. Cumberland sausage and colcannon mash are to die for! Staff are very friendly even if they do tell us off for being too loud when the lads are up with me (Sorry Suzi, we'll keep it down!) Great place to chill out and get soused in on a quiet day.

First time visitor on 9th Sept 2011. Very nice pub. Enjoyed the beer and was very impressed with the food. I had the Madras Curry, which was by far the best I have had in a pub. It was nicely presented with plain rice, poppadom, naan, mango chutney and salad.
