This place is just round the corner and therefore handy for Victoria Bus Station. In here last Saturday early afternoon and just 3 others present. Bit soul less. Medium volume piped music is playing. No TV. They have 6 hand pulls 7 for ale and 1 for cider. is blank. 1 Theakston Old Perculier and Best Bitter 1 Caladoninan Golden XPA. Duchers IPA. I had a very nice pint of Butcombe Bitter for £3.20. bjbrummiejohn - 18 Aug 2014 08:36 |
This is an eclectic pub with a nice mix atmosphere and good music. But it really could do with a bit of hands-on management, a good clean and tidy up. As previously observed, the decor is a mixture of traditional pub and what can only be described as "camp" fixtures and fittings. But if the "front of house" cleaning and general house-keeping is not up to scratch, then customers will also question what is happening behind the scenes ie in terms of drink and food preparation. If that was all "spot on", I'd give the place a 9 out of 10! jonnyg - 18 Feb 2013 11:19 |
Good Traditional 2 roomed Pub with good choice of Ale. Table service in Lounge. nivramkram - 15 Feb 2012 12:19 |
Managed a couple of pints in here last Saturday before last orders. My first visit. Pleasant "proper" pub, with strangely camp decor and some ales in good nick. An enjoyable experience all told. Ordinary - 13 Oct 2009 22:34 |
