Vast range of real ales and ciders, most from Titanic Brewery. Very mice touch to have a small jar of each on the bar so punters can see the colour.

Food is ok, but goo for the price.

A gem, all the beers Titanic sampled were in good condition and an excellent selection.
The food on the other hand was a great disappointment. Ploughman's Lunch had a slice of cotton wool instead of a hunk of bread, the chef's own pickle was just some sliced red onions and the "pickled onions" were silverskins. I would rather pay more than the £5 requested and get something decent.
For drinking, it was great! Forget the food.

A disppontment from Titanic. Although they had the full range of ales (the Capt Smiths were drinkable if not clear) This pub has the chain pub/eatery feel of a Marstons/Wetherspoons. There are plenty of McDonalds/Wetherspoons/Harvester etc etc etc for people to drag their screeching beneifit brats to. I thought Titanic dealt in proper pubs for proper drinkers

Titanic have done a good job on this place, after it passed through a couple of landlords in quick succession who couldn't make a go of it. They've gutted it and started again, which was needed. Fine selection of beer and nice environment.

First time in this pub, so no comparisons with old regime are viable for me. Titanic have installed a superb half-circular bar with 10 handpumps ranged around it, seven from their own range and three very good guests. In order to showcase the ale, all the other lager/fizzy pumps have been arranged on the wall behind the serving area with just the handles showing in several rows, much in the style of many American bars. Informed barstaff were able to describe the different styles of beer on offer, always a good sign.
A fairly heavy emphasis on food with an interesting and relatively cheap menu on offer. The toilets are down a couple of steps in what appears to have been an open courtyard at one point, but is now enclosed. A nice amusing touch in the gents is a padded barstool seat screwed to the wall just above one of the urinals, presumably in order for drink-weary punters to lay their head against whilst relieving themselves of the ale consumed!
