Not the most informative review as the landlord was leaving on the day I visited with the new guy literally just taking over as I walked in. Firstly it's in a fantastic location with sublime views across the forest of Dean, very nice beer garde at the rear too. They had Thwaites Best, Hobgoblin & Brains - The Reverend James on my brief visit with the Brains TRJ being the single best pint of said beer I have ever sampled so I was a happy bunny. Nice friendly pub, is better inside than out. The awning needs fixing and a better "we are open" sign would be nice. That said, the food was excellent and the beer first rate! I will be going there again soon Mick anonymous - 6 Jun 2005 12:57 |
Great pub to spend a sunny summers afternoon in - sit out front and hear the gentle 'thwack' of leather on willow as the local cricket team play, or sit out the back and enjoy the local cider. Watch out - it gets stronger as you work your way down the barrel. Lou_C - 12 Jan 2005 14:58 |
The most amazing views, the food however leaves much to be desired. So go there for a drink in the evening. anonymous - 1 Nov 2004 13:16 |
