| What an excellent pub & restaurant this is, came upon by accident driving around on a sunday afternoon even though they had offically closed we were still welcomed inside by the landlord. We were so impressed by the welcome & the quaility of the beer that we returned the following friday evening to sample the food, which was also excellent quality & value. | Frankly, I'm surprised at some of the previous comments. Our recent experience during the nearby Hay Festival was the opposite. Excellent food that could only really have been home-made (local lamb served as a Moroccan Lamb tagine was excellent) and the Butty Bach draught beer was well kept. billynibbles - 13 Jun 2010 15:39 |
| Truly crap. Freezing cold, we had to eat with our coats on. Irritating waitress who moved us away from the fire within five minutes and talked NONSTOP at us. Amateur, frozen food dressed up as 'will be prepared fresh', disgusting pizza that we took home to give to our chickens. A comment by the waitress to the table next to us sums this USELESS place up - when asked 'can I have a childrens' portion of fish and chips for an adult', the reply was 'Only on Fridays'. | Pretty good food with a choice of vegetarian meals. Beer was Wye Valley (Butty Bach) plus a guest (Three Tuns XXX on this occasion), neither to my taste I have to say and rather similar.
