| Regular book club meetings in here, alternating with MENSA symposiums every second week. Bags to do whilst your man waits for you in your carriage, check out the replica wall (brick for brick!) in the extensive gardens where they play the Eton wall game or peruse the Magna Carta on display in the Orangery. What? They’ve dismantled the wall, wiped their arses on the Carta and thrown the toffs on the pyre along with the books? Gah! I knew it wouldn’t last! Still a chav palace, unfortunately; avoid. | This is a good pub for a meal and a pint and much better than it was. Often have deals. Best to visit during the day rather then the evening as I found out recently as the undesirables lurk around. | It has been nicely refurbished but still suffers with some moronic clients. The Land Lady is lovely, but sadly she has no presence in the pub, the bar staff are young and very inexperienced. | Visited this pub for the first time this week and was really impressed. Great wine (and cheap!) and the food was at the upper end of the pub-grub scale. The bar staff are some of the friendliest I've ever met, definitely worth the visit. scottinthesky - 7 May 2009 10:58 |
