Two real ales on, GK bitter and one other. The pub looks as though it has been stripped out and any interesting features removed. No carpets. twm_sion_cati - 3 May 2011 12:17 |
It's changed management again, and is more of a traditional local pub now - not quite so foody. The beer is still GK only, though. Shame. sloe_jane - 26 Oct 2009 21:50 |
The Anchor is now styled as a bar eatery. The food is well done and aiming for the gastropub end of the market. The beer has only ever been Green King when I've been in. Service was friendly and sitting by a roaring fire was lovely on a cold December evening. I haven't been back because of the lack of decent real ale - although I notice that they were advertising a beer festival with guest beers last weekend (I'dve been there if we'd not been away). sloe_jane - 20 Jun 2009 15:11 |
The unpretencious village pub. Yet to be turned into a gastro-pub it simply serves beer to the locals. Quieter in the week with Crib, Darts and Pool teams active the weekends are much busier. Recently partially refitted to a 'wine bar' look, the pub is open all day most days. Large beer garden for the brats. Simon Greenaway - 18 Apr 2004 09:41 |
