My first visit foe a number of years. Not a bad pub-well kept Doombar, but a bit cold for my liking. Food only average (6/10) and no atmosphere in restaurant mid-week. Staff not particularly friendly ,bar a bit cliquey as mentioned in a previuos post and completely empty by 10.00 pm huntforbeer - 6 Jul 2012 08:25 |
Attractive pub on the edge of woodland, we visited last Saturday afternoon but it was difficult to really judge the place as they were busy hosting a wedding party. There is an attractively decorated bar at the front, leading on the left to a dining area, and a large conservatory leading to a lovely garden. We sat in the garden in front of the pub which has nice pots of shrubs breaking up the gravel covered ground. What would have been a nice restful ambience was somewhat spoilt by traffic hacking past on the road in front of the pub. The ale range was the usual slightly uninspiring line up: Courage Best, London Pride and Sharps Doombar; having said that, the Doombar was really tasty and the service was pleasant. flashharry1965 - 12 Jun 2012 08:41 |
Snobby place. Ridiculously overpriced thanks to the affluent, but shallow, locals. It's not a pub, it's a meeting place for the local clique. Avoid it like the plague. BillJ - 6 Nov 2009 23:33 |
