Luckily no tele on when we visited. We return from year to year and this is still one of THE places to visit in the whole country. Absolutely wonderful from the real cider to the pies and rolls and the great atmosphere. Steamer1 - 22 Sep 2016 15:43 |
What a fantastic pub. So much personality and heavenly for a cider drinker, with a lovely choice of traditional ciders. Keeping with the traditional theme the pub is beautifully rustic with rolls on the bar and wooden benches. But why oh why ruin it with a horrible tele?! I_am_a_cider_drinker - 27 Sep 2013 14:53 |
Most excellent! One of the just 4 remaining Cider Houses in the UK. No beer, just cider, perry and fruit wines. A huge number of ciders and fruit wines stocked behind the bar, extremely knowledgeable staff who help you choose according to your taste. Sparkling or still, sweet, medium or dry, clear or cloudy... We ended up staying quite a bit longer than expected! Great! MarkVP - 17 Jul 2013 12:08 |
Since going in here I have had more cider in 6 months than the rest of my life! Really good cider, not the usual stuff from pubs that make a weak attempt at saying "We do real cider" (No you don't - in the main). Bar staff know what they're talking about, cider and wine only, basic snacks with a paved area to the rear for some air or smoke depending on your choice of seat. Even some old arcade games too! Love it! Bernie5 - 20 Apr 2012 16:55 |
Visited midday last Thursday. Sams + 3 country wines - nettle, rasberry and apricot. Lush. Pub itself is quite basic, but has charm - you need to be turned on by wine / cider to enjoy, really. ed_hodge - 24 Nov 2011 13:46 |
