The refurbishment was so successful it's now a Morrison's local shop. R.I.P philanders - 5 Nov 2014 18:08 |
I want to set the record straight!.... This might look like an advert but if you read my last report you will see I'm correcting my rant after the ex landlady was nasty to me Anyway what can i say.....What a massive change! Yet Even after the make over I refused to go back as I knew the witch was still there But now The new manager Neil has made such a difference as has Holly and all the staff . .... I can assure everyone that it is not only safe to go back, but is now an outstanding pub! I was a bit unsure about the pizza idea in a sports pub but it WORKS! The pizzas are not like take out junk food they are fresh and fantastic and cheap too! I recommend the chilly con carny pizza!! Lol I know that the locals are unsure if this is now just a restaurant or if you can come in for a drink... Not only can you just come in for a drink and watch the sports read a newspaper or use your laptop but they also have live bands some nights which have been really good so far So I have become a regular fella again Regularfella - 9 Apr 2013 15:56 |
As previously said this pub needs a total overhaul...and its had one! Sadly its like rolling shit in glitter...it may sparkle but its still shit underneath. The landlady is miserable, rude and arrogant and she hires staff who are the same as her! This pub is always empty....I doubt they could give drinks away...and yet the pubs surrounding it are doing well and always have customers. Seems like the brewery should take note and get new staff and management to go along with the new look. If you're in the area and fancy a drink.....pick another pub! pubgoer36 - 2 Nov 2012 18:35 |
We have been a regulars for years, lunch times as well as evenings and always loved it but in the last year I have noticed its really going down hill, not only is it looking shabby with the toilets; WELL! Let's just say, pegs are useful, I've been told the ladies are just as bad, with doors not locking, and toilets not flushing, but also I find the landlady rude! I have never seen her pull a pint and when I jokingly mention this to her she started shouting at us, like we were school children, she told us that she can do what she wants and can bar us if she wants. No need, we won't be spoken to like that so won't be back! Also on Friday and saturday nights when it's busy there are normally 3 staff behind the bar trying their hardest to deal with angry customers, because they have to wait 40 mins to get served. Yet the landlady seems to be sat somewhere with her cup of tea or chatting with her fella. Or even dancing on the dance floor, I think the power has gone right to her head. Unfortunately this place is in dire need of being updated. The gents toilets are disgusting and the roof leeks in the bar when it rains. That said the Landlady makes you very welcome and the beer is good. itsianc - 4 May 2011 17:52 |
