| Good real ale and food pub. Visited on quiet Sunday evening in mid-October. Friendly efficient bar and serving staff. Selection of Hartleys and Robinsons beers on. Good plate-fulls of freshly-cooked food. No chicken dishes available on the night, but he Hungarian meatballs from the specials board were very good, and rare steak cooked nice and rare! | Looking for decent home cooked pub food in ambleside? This seems to be the recommended place. Lots of traditional pubs in the town but this is the only one that doesnt microwave them.
