| The Wynnstay Arms Hotel is a complete contrast to the town's other pubs. It is a fairly plush hotel/restaurant. The only drawback was that other than another couple, we were the only customers. Despite this, neither of us could get service when we arrived. The bar area is tiny with one large table. But, at the front is a much larger area with all tables made up for dining. Cader Gold & Red Bandit are the two real ales. A major plus point for me was Gwynt y Ddraig Happy Daze & Black Dragon ciders. This appears to be the only place in town serving real cider. Probably the second best place for a beer in the evening in Machynlleth. We moved on from here to the nearby White Horse and then the Tafarn Dwynant in Ceinws and the Dovey Valley Hotel in Cenmaes Road. None of these are listed on BITE. | Excellent food, cooked by a top notch chef, be prepared to pay but its well worth it. Dont be fooled by its apparent empty appearance theres loads of room out back in the lovely dinind room. Posh nosh at a decent price. Wine selection better than its beer though. dibdotcom - 30 Nov 2009 19:39 |

| great pint of REVEREND JAMES food is very over priced after eating and a couple of pints had to buy fish and chips great fish from hennigans fish shop at the top of town and always nice to see norton jones stoking the fire and sitting at the bar, a good place to have a pint anonymous - 26 Mar 2007 17:03 |
| Stayed for 2 nights in early march 2007. Hotel has been tastefully redecorated. Excellent breakfast and main meals. There's also a pizzeria on site which had good quality and reasonably priced pizza etc. The ales were Brains - Rev. James, Morland - Speckled Hen & Green King - IPA. On the Friday night the beers weren't so good, but on Saturday the Rev. James was very good (think they'd cleaned the lines?)
