Oz equivalent to Wetherspoons....beer no dearer than anywhere else in Melbourne but cheapest pint at 9Au$ equates to 6+ in English pounds...the alcohol police/Oz nanny-state are taxing it to death...even got refused a pint because we'd been in too long...fortunately/ridiculously I could still drink schooners Muzzy - 24 Jun 2012 14:38 |
This place has a wonderful location opposite Flinders Street Station and Federation Square. The sprawling interior has 5 bars, including 3 on the ground floor, one upstairs with the famous Chloe painting and a rooftop bar. A good range of beers are dispensed and there is currently a cider festival. The bouncer hanging around the pub can make you a little uneasy and I found the policy of cleaning out the pumps at peak times (e.g. 10pm on a Saturday night) very odd indeed. Nevertheless, this is a good central option with plenty of seating available. The best pub we visited in Melbourne. blue_scrumpy - 21 Jul 2010 21:20 |

An excellent friendly pub, handy for Flinders Street Station, an excellent range of beers, I recomend Beez Neez. If you're on your own you'll always end up in a conversation with one of the locals. tanky - 29 May 2005 12:51 |
Dropped by when i was in Melbourne and they have quite a variety of beers/ale. I recommend the Young & Jackson's naked ale and the Beez Neez as well!!! Overall a nice place to hang out at. Darren - 21 Jul 2003 08:39 |
