Love this place - rough n ready but perfect antidote to the majority of pretentious Shoreditch watering holes... Terrific jukebox and pool tables at the back simonred - 9 Sep 2005 16:30 |
vuelvo por tercera vez a londres para, entre otras cosas, tomarme un guinnes (extra cold) (eva una john smith) en ste bar. melmoth - 16 Jun 2005 08:44 |
Upon crossing the threshold of this establishment one feels as though all the chaff from all the trendy winebaresque venues on Old Street have all collated in this one room. However, a trip to the bar later and your wallet will appreciate your decision to come. Juke box is great, furniture not so, and beware of gentlemen in gas masks. Saturday afternoons can attract kids (with their parents) but karaoke night is good fun. In real terms, anyone visiting Old Street for the trendy Shoreditch bars wouldn't want to use this place, but I live around the corner and it makes a great place to meet friends and get drunk. In the summer you can pull the furniture out into the street and watch the world go by; highly recommended. lancalot - 19 Jan 2005 15:54 |
This place has recently improved greatly, thanks to a young manager, and regular rotation of talented DJ's (Fri & Sat nights). The bar still has an east london roughness about it, but this is all part of the charm. Prices have risen to 1.80, but this place must still be the best value drinking hole in London. The perfect antidote to the 'ever-so-cool' Hoxton scene. Damian Hurst - 18 Jun 2004 15:46 |
all drinks 170 a complete drive with sawdust on the floor and garden furniture that is falling apart. rude bar staff but a great jukebox. used to be mangerd by a 19 year old great landlady. pub gone down hill since than but cheap drink makes it all worse it a must for students. jennifer ling - 3 Mar 2004 15:18 |
