Lovely place to stay; the perfect get away from it all break. A cosy retreat with exceptionally good food, a very genial owner and some very well kept ales (particularly enjoyed the Northern Light). Pleasant countryside all around. Highly recommended. strangetorpor - 6 Mar 2013 11:34 |
Food good (mostly), real ale less so (not a fan of Houston beer) quality can vary. Staff friendly, some more efficient than others, especially when it comes to real ale. Atmosphere very good, locals friendly. fatgeologist - 21 Oct 2009 16:38 |
A good pub, but we went there for the music on the second Friday this month to be dissapointed when there was none! A pint of Houston "Crystal" was well kept, but as it was 5% ABV, a little sweet for my tastes. anonymous - 16 Oct 2006 15:45 |
This is a lovely pub but the bar prices are a little bit on the heavy side for my liking. Food is great and the staff were friendly. Its all modern fittings inside an old building so may not appeal to traditionalists. I walked from here to Failford Inn which I'm just off to review now. James_Anderson - 1 Jun 2006 02:08 |
This is a little belter of a place! The surroundings, food, beer, and staff (especially the lad Paul!) make it all worth the while going into here. Set in the middle of nowhere, you have to travel to get to it. It always seems to be busy. It really is the jewel in the country! Try it..... you wont be disappointed! anonymous - 6 Jan 2006 11:07 |
