Lovely village pub with sizeable garden and surrounded by woods and walks. A good local trade enjoying friendly banter with the landlord/chef giving as good as he got. Three ales on which were Rebellion IPA and Chiltern Cobblestones, both local, and London Pride. The a la carte menu is a bit pricy but there is a set menu at £10 for two courses or £13 for three courses (not available at weekends) which is excellent value with sizeable servings of good quality. Certainly worth going again. yellowfever - 3 Jul 2014 11:32 |
this place is just brilliant. first time visiting on the weekend and its already our new favourite sunday venue. a real friendly community country pub. warm, inviting, decent local ales, dog friendly, SUPERB sunday roast, great staff, great locals, traditional interior, just wonderfull. and i havent even mentioned the icing on the cake.... all the chelsea fc memorabillia on the wall by the bar. if your after a proper country pub, you'd be hard pressed to find a better example. A handy pub for walks across the Chilterns between Wendover/Great Missenden and Princes Risborough, even more so since the pub in Little Hampden closed. Friendly service, Brill Steam on tap from the Vale Brewery in Brill and a distinctly above average menu selection. Constantine the chef checked everyone's meals and adds a Greek twist to the dishes on offer. imule - 19 May 2011 20:24 |
Used to pop in here quite regularly. Food is very good, lovely location. You can walk over the hills from Wendover station, have a meal and walk back to make a day out. Unfortunately there was a rather rude employee last time I went (3 years ago) so I have boycotted the place since. Mr Frisky - 12 Nov 2004 18:19 |
The owners have made every effort to keep this pub part of village life, while also preparing excellent meals. Service very good. Anne - 25 Jun 2004 14:08 |
