Had just come back down off Ben Nevis, it had taken us 7hrs to get up and down, and we were KNACKERED! A pint of River Leven Blonde just hit the spot! It was quickly followed by a Red Cuillin, and then by another Blonde...lovely! The perfect setting for a pub! Excellent beer and friendly service, didn't eat here, but I can certainly recommend the beer!

What an amazing setting to sit out and have a beer, sitting in the shadows of mountains, although sadly not one of the many people who'd been up Ben Nevis that day and were justifiably celebrating their achievement.

Fine food and the Cairngorm Stag Bitter was lovely. Characterful and well worth a vist if in the area. Strange to have so much natural beauty when the town of Fort William itself is a dreadful eyesore.

Huge hangar of a pub, lots of space both inside and out. We had spent the day climbing Ben Nevis and came down to find Red Cuillin, Nessie's Monster Mash and Sheepshagger on tap, a great choice of beers in good condition.

Stayed for a steak and chips - food is a tad on the expensive side but the cooking is way above what pub-grub standard. Steak came nicely medium-rare, pink in the middle, with whisky sauce, and we had a highly sinful cranachan for dessert (cream, cream, cream, whisky and strawberries, roughly in that order) - bill came to 30 for two. Highly recommended, particularly for the friendly and very competent staff.

This pub is at the foot of Ben Nevis and is an excellent place to quence your thirst after an ascent. It's bare boards and refectory style make it very walker friendly. I had a beer from the Cairngorm brewery which was very good. Unfortunately it was the only one on, but that is probably an indication of teh tourist season being almost over. I'd certainly rather have 1 good ale than have to cope with 2 or more which are stale.

A pub which well worth the trouble to find.

We walked up to here from the Glen Nevis campsite (directions below*) and it was well worth it. Good food and beer in a very unique and interesting place. Both of the Cairngorm brews were on good form (Stag and Eagle Blond) and the food was imaginative. Went back again the next day on the way back to the campsite after doing Ben Nevis - that pint was most welcome!!

*If staying at the campsite at Glen Nevis: Leave the site and go back on the main road towards Fort William, turning right in to the Ben Nevis visitors centre car park and crossing the footbridge, turn right along the river bank and then up the Ben Nevis path toward the Inn.
