Scrump - why bring a notebook into a pub? tradervic - 18 Jun 2019 20:54 |
The Herbert Wells was my last stop of the day in Surrey and without a doubt, I'd saved the best for last. In fact, it's unusual for me to say that a Wetherspoon's was my favourite pub of the day. This large and busy branch wedged between the town centre and the railway station had a nice atmosphere and more importantly an excellent range of ales and ciders. Real ales occupy 3 banks of handpulls. Regular ales are Courage Best, Sharp's Doom Bar, Greene King Abbot & Hogsback TEA. Guests were Arundel Pickled Mouse, Andwell Gold Muddler, Stonehenge Great Bustard, Elgood's Mamma Meerkat, Naylor's Velver, Hanlon's Stormstay & Bragdy Conwy San Francisco. Boxed ciders occupy one entire fridge. Today's selection was Cock Eyed Monkey Mango & Pear Mania, Weston's Old Rosie, Broadoak Moonshine, Mr Whitehead's Equinox & Garden Cider Company Vintage Cider. My pint of Monkey Mango went down very nicely and having toilets on the same floor was another unexpected bonus. The best pub I visited in Woking and probably the best in the town. blue_scrumpy - 8 Jun 2019 20:51 |
This is BestBeerBoffin and today I went to Herbert Wells in Woking and had an American IPA with a veggie texas burger. Its a nice big pub and you can even watch TV or watch people outside. It is quite nice here. BestBeerBoffin - 2 Sep 2017 15:43 |
Did come here on a Saturday though, no football or rugby on at that time so it may have been affected by that. Was ok, had a post-run breakfast there which was agreeable. rainlight - 26 Aug 2017 12:54 |
No point coming here on a Saturday. Arrived at 1pm and totally full, could not find a single table. Don't bother on Saturdays! BestBeerBoffin - 25 Mar 2017 14:47 |
