please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.
The Northern Hemisphere's best kept secret. I've heard the food's great. And that review came from my dad whose arse fell out there several years ago from food poisoning. I guess if your colon doesn't appear at the foot of a log end dartboard then you're in front. Bon appetit! Cheapest beer in England? Say no more. Periodically, depending on the landlord/landlady (look how PC I am!) the place allows tossers in, including the pensioner beater with the big ears. Yes him, son of Dave, the scouser with the attractive skin condition. Anyway Big Ears, I hope you no longer darken the celebrated doorstep of the Cleveland and your tough thug friend enjoyed his quick trip home through his front door window. Cheers, and can you put a little more head on that Holts. Best regards to Jimmy Addy. cohenst - 4 Sep 2007 03:37 |
The cleve meals are value for money and there is an excellent choice on the menu...which changes with the seasons. The staff are friendly and most of the local characters are still around....although the younger crowd are starting to spoil its built up reputation again. truthmaster - 2 Sep 2007 13:46 |
The Cleve is a local institute for all the local characters. The food is great, entertainment is lively and it certainly pulls in the crowds. Shame its starting to attract a younger crowd of idiots who carnt handle the alcohol. Worth a visit....especially the sunday dinners. anonymous - 15 Mar 2007 20:17 |
The Cleve has always suffered from a bad rep. In the 80s it was quite often 'fight night' but it is a good local pub, the best in the area. Live sport and good meals but at the moment the beer is a bit so-so. It's always full of local characters and Alex Higgins was playing the regulars at pool for a pint a few years ago. anonymous - 25 Jan 2007 00:51 |
