The Nevill Crest and Gun is a wonderful large pub set back from the busy A26. The gardens are lovely, but the one to the rear is quieter due to less traffic noise. The interior is very nice and the Tonbridge Coppernob I tried was excellent. As previous posters have noted, this a very foody pub, but it is still a pub. BiffoBeer - 14 Jul 2014 09:31 |

In my opinion for a place to stop for a decent and meal with a nice pint doesn’t get much better than this. You would not be ashamed to take guests there and that for me is a good yardstick. It is well laid out, plenty of room, still retains some character, good car parking space and pleasant outdoors seating on a sunny day. On the several visits we have made we have been served pleasantly and not had to wait over long for our meal. An interesting menu and well prepared food. It’s a little more expensive than some but we have not left feeling disappointed and will look forward to calling again harveysfan - 4 Oct 2013 17:19 |
Ate here recently for the first time and thought the food was Pretty decent, it's clearly not a dreadful brewers fayre! They had quite a few real ales on which I heard the staff describing to customers quite well and I had a pint of local beer, helles which was nice. However the lack of music makes the bar seem very quite which might explain why everyone was sat in the conservatory eating! Get some music and it would be a great place for a pint after walking the dog jaf - 28 Jun 2012 15:06 |
I have been to this pub twice, the second time with a party of party. It was considerably better than I expected. The staff are both friendly and very helpful (al of the ones we saw) ; the food is very good, although some things expensive, and the variety of beer good, and well kept. The longer we stayed, the more we liked it. The only things missing is the atmosphere of a pub, but that is getting harder to find. We've been there twice, and we shall go again. The positive points well outweigh the negative. harrylimex - 24 Jun 2012 12:38 |
