Don’t know what’s happened here. Was a great pub well run. Then change or manager no music and bang. Dead Pub. WTF. why change what’s not broken. it is now and most of the crowd are with old manager at Kings Head python888 - 18 Jun 2019 21:51 |
Major refurb happening. Reopens Friday 29th Jan. Cant wait. Best beer in Barnet.. Last comments bit weird. Said it was dim. Then it was decorated for Halloween.... Hello. Isn't that the point.... python888 - 25 Jan 2016 00:58 |
This was the first stop of a swift 10 pub crawl of Barnet and Cockfosters yesterday daytime. It was the first pub we could find open in High Barnet at 11am. This used to be a Wetherspoons. But it now appears to be Irish-owned. Located on the High Street, the interior is long and narrow, with the bar situated around half way along. Lighting is dim, apart from a couple of skylights. Ales were mainly from St Austell - Tribute, Trelawney & Proper Job. But Adnams Broadside was also on. No real cider was available. As with many of the local pubs, it was decked out for Halloween. A reasonable start. blue_scrumpy - 25 Oct 2015 18:40 |
Wow been away for a while but back local. Popped in to see what was up and well, its awesome. Feels like a new pub. Clean and fresh. Great real ales, which is no surprise as they are now in Camras good beer guide. Saw band and was pleased new band sat 11oct and charity nite. Won't miss it python888 - 9 Oct 2014 12:13 |
Things are starting to look up a bit after this former Wetherspoons pub being in the doldrums for a while. There are usually four real ales on tap - frequently changing. Quite decent quality ale at reasonable prices. There is a jam night for musos on Sundays at the back, leaving the front part of the place quiet for those who want to chat while enjoying a drink. Apparently live bands could be a regular thing on Saturday nights soon. DarkLordOfBarnet - 28 Apr 2014 21:44 |
