The real ales are excellent with a selection from local breweries as well as Green King. Staff are knowledgeable and helpful when advising on them and what a range from light and citrus flavoured beers to lightly smoked porter. Good service and comfy chairs - what more do you want. Amongst all this post Big Sam turmoil, we’ve watched the falling pound and the fluctuating banana, and the sun has still risen the next day What we can’t have, though, is Fosters disappearing from our streets. Is it me or are there less FOSTERS taps about? When was the last time you heard two people at each other’s throats, debating the merits or flaws of the amber nectar. Never mind ‘voter shame’. Drinker apathy has taken told of us. I believe that the BFB should commit to Congress, before this decade is out, to finding the worst pint of Fosters served in London, sending Crow to drink that pint, and then return him safely to South Woodford. We do these things not because they are easy but because they are HARD. senberbex - 9 Nov 2016 14:39 |

Well, they finally got round to gentrifying the Railway and first impressions are good. And then you go inside. What used to be a rather charming, down-at-heel sort of place has now been polished and scrubbed within and inch of its life and the old clientele supplanted with the twits that used to frequent Jets next door. A victory for the brewery, a Pyrrhic victory for the regulars. Deafening TVs and terrible acoustics (due to large parts of the bar being tiled), means it's ear-bleedingly loud. And that's annoying cos I've got loads to say. 6/10 ClareBaldingsChin - 20 Jan 2016 15:12 |
If you like big screens showing footie that nobody is really watching, poor selection of ales, carpet that hasn't been replaced since the 70s, and loads of geezers in their workclothes going "oi, oi, savaloy" every two minutes then you are gonna be in heaven. BeeBee69 - 8 Mar 2015 00:07 |
