It seems a shame to report that previous reviews of this establishment are only now of historical interest. Owing to “unfortunate” circumstances this pub was closed in early March 2013, losing its licences. It was finally vacated in early June and securely boarded up with metal grilles. Rumours are that it will continue as an empty non trading edifice until January 2014. Then it may be re-opened as a pub if new licences are granted or it may be re-developed as flats. Anyone’s guess, I hope it’s the first option but who knows. Watch this space Goodpubman - 29 Jul 2013 10:08 |
Used to be a nice boozer, but had to wait ages for a pint on a recent Monday night, only about 6 people. Over 3 for a manky pint of John Smiths, I'll remember how it used to be when Roy ran it about 10 yrs ago. phillper0906 - 23 Jun 2011 07:57 |
The Wilton is a friendly pub without too much ego! Karaoke nights are a good laugh and apart no one taking it too seriously there are some fab singers! There is a Halloween Fancy Dress Karaoke Disco on last saturday in October and if your bored and fancy a laugh singalong and dance why not go..... lisa_lou - 23 Sep 2008 17:45 |
I was an out of town visitor from Watford. The pub had a very good kareoke that night, and the owner Ravette is aspiring to look and sound like George Michael,(Has he had the plastic surgery yet?)The atmosphere, was great the staff very friendly and the drink good especially the water could do with more Champagne. The Wilton arms is a family pub but also caters for the young, old tourists and the locals. It is worth a visit. A. Rumbilita - 23 Jun 2007 21:02 |
In the mid 90's I used to share a house with a load of people two doors down from this pub and so we ended up there quite regularly Despite being initially a bit daunting we found the landlords and regulars totally friendly Indeed in the summer they used to let us take our round back to the house as our garden was much nicer than the fairly horrid patio. The best thing that ever happened to me in the Wilton was one Saturday afternoon when somehow we'd locked ourselves out of the house. We retired to the Wilton to consider the matter. Whilst discussing it in the back bar one of the regulars (with whom we were acquainted) chipped in to help - apparently in a previous life he'd been a burglar and he offered to get us back in Needless to say we jumped at the opportunity and were suitably gobsmacked when he jiiged open the kitchen window in under ten seconds without any sign of forcible entry - a lesson for us all Anyway - the Wilton (which doesn't seem to have changed much) is an old style Fulham local whcih might take a bit of effort but is well worth it murgatroyd - 28 Dec 2006 21:58 |
