Every railway station needs an old fashioned railway boozer and this place is a classic example of one. No food whatsoever and a rough joint with dodgy clientele and the odd dog running around. I do quite like these kind of pubs and you need one like this to allow a two minute sprint for your train! 7/10 montie49 - 5 Mar 2019 18:50 |
Normally closed when I visit Salisbury, on the rare occassions it is open it is devoid of punters, looking rather dank and uninviting. How does the place stay afloat? seems rather a shame given its location near the station, though I suppose few rail travellers are interested in an after journey pint these days? Agree with wolvesfan and Hodge1, been past this place 3 or 4 times each at a different time and day of the week and everytime it's closed. Meerkat - 25 Jun 2011 11:14 |
Used to serve a great pint of Gibbs Mew Bishops Tipple in the late 80's, I agree with teh comments regarding opening hours, it never seems to open! Hodge1 - 16 Jan 2011 12:32 |
This pub has the grumpiest landlord and landlady EVER!!! If you can find it to be open when you pass, and that's a BIG if, see for yourself. The beer is pretty average, move on to Deacon's or the Haunch. wolvesfan - 16 Jan 2011 11:25 |
