| Three staff behind the bar and two deliberately ignored me and another person waiting. There were plates left on tables for half an hour or more, but these for two chatting was more important. If you don't like pub work, find another job. Plenty of barstaff who do want to do the job, can then do the work properly and not be so lazy. This place was very good when it first opened, just going downhill fast now. The food was ok, my steak was not overdone for a change. If the staffing issues were sorted out, this pub could be a real gem in the Wetherspoons chain. Will try again and see if this was a one off, somehow I doubt it. Beerbug - 22 May 2015 12:29 |
| The Queens Head seems to have a new lease of life. The new couple Clive and Poppy I think they are named have certainly begun to turn it around. It seems to have a lot going on as well with, Live music, karaoke, open mic nights, Quiz's and even Bingo ! The customers were polite and welcoming happy to say hello, not sat watching from huddled groups as you get in some places. The food is great I must say, being a fussy eater and having eaten there. Sunday dinner was fantastic and weekdays it is two meals for �10. I will have to give that a go :) Many lagers on but for me importantly great ales, well done to who ever manages them! | This pub used to be my local - don't get in there as much as I would like now (as I run my own pub). I can recommend the Queens Head to all ages, large enclosed garden and a well kept cellar. | This pub has recently had a refit after being closed for a while, and is completely different than it used to be. North Lane is an industrial area of Aldershot, and the trendy interior is quite unexpected from the outside. Quite nice pub, used to be seperate rooms but now opened up as an open - planned thing.
