Pretty pub. Well healed clientèle. Ale was in good condition. Staff attentive and friendly. Fish and Chips sampled was expensive, very average quality and a very small portion. Cannot recommend for food and since the pub is pretty much devoted to food there is little point visiting. odbod - 26 Feb 2018 15:43 |
Staying at Sparsholt on tree course - nipped down the road for a pint and a meal - food was excellent and the ales were good as well - just a bit pricey - bot otherwise good place. kernott1 - 12 Nov 2011 08:39 |
Great spot in Sparsholt, this pub know this, whilst it is independent and strong on food (restaurant really), this country pub will require you to up the limit on your credit card. No fear for the landlord as its busy anyway because everyone is pretty well loaded round here going by the punters - win win for them, sad for anyone who just wants to eat well and a decent price and have a pint in the english country side - damn capitalism and the way it ruins normality parmantom - 17 Oct 2011 12:51 |
We had heard good things about the Plough, especially the food. We were not disappointed, the food was very nice and came quickly, staff were very helpful and my beer was nice too. The only constructive comment i would like to make is that even though the food was very acceptable and presented beautifully we both felt it was a little overpriced which in turn sort of made it not value for money. Will return though as pie was excellent! Baddage baddage - 9 Jan 2011 10:01 |
After hearing a lot of hype (locally) regarding the Plough, I decided to visit yesterday. The ale, I had a Waddy's 6X, was in very good condition. The staff, 3 older gentlemen and a mature female were, unfortunately very unfriendly (maybe they were not attuned to drinkers). The food looked fantastic, especially the fish and chips, with the chips being the chunky homemade variety. The only problem being, the menu is seriously overpriced!! But all in all this place is worth a visit. 5/10 wolvesfan - 1 Dec 2010 08:52 |
