This back-street boozer still has the old Hardys and Hansons signs but although it is now owned by Greene King it serves Full Mash brewery ales (plus one GK beer which was Olde Trip on our visit). Nothing really wrong with the pub as such but we were not overly impressed with the beers (they were kept OK but not to our palate) so we headed off back to the city centre. We will give it another try next time as it is so close to the other bars around Canning Circus. mcroyal - 1 Dec 2013 14:33 |
Rapidly dropping off as years go by. Beer quality usually average at best, IPA and Olde Trip only. Was on mild trail a few years ago but been suffering every time I visit since. steve.hill4 - 4 Apr 2010 23:09 |

Excellent, 'real' pub! one of the last of a dying breed. Great landlord/landlady - friendly, polite, sarcastic and funny! Great sunday dinners! Good for students. Pool table, juke box, quiz night, bingo night! Laid-back and friendly! Good crowd in on a Friday night! 10/10 dylan6776 - 26 Dec 2006 15:03 |
A genuine back street boozer. Serves a decent pint of Kimberley Ale. Quiz nights on Tuesdays - answers required range from "flipping 'eck I know this one" to the downright bizarre. One or two excellent barbecues in the summer david - 12 Feb 2004 19:12 |
