Good selection of local beer and tasty food in this very pleasant Northamptonshire pub in the lee of the magnificent Harringworth Viaduct, which dominates both the village and the Welland Valley. Only a stone's throw to the county border with Rutland. Friendly, efficient service in welcoming surroundings. Well worth a visit! coulsdoncrawler - 29 Jun 2009 23:48 |
Has recently changed hands - food is now excellent - a wonderful wide range of choices with daily specials AND is even open on Monday lunchtimes! Three or four good real ales, and friendly atmosphere. Has just started opening on Sunday nights again too. Highly recommended. NickZ - 7 Mar 2007 17:19 |
Used to be my favourite pub in the area! Very sorely disappointed on a recent visit to turn up well within the advertised food opening hours only to be told "we sent the chef home early"... as we were on foot, there was no chance of anything else to eat until we'd walked to Uppingham. Unlikely to be going back. el_capitano - 30 Dec 2005 20:44 |
A warm and friendly atmosphere, with traditional home-made quality food at reasonable prices. Superior en-suite B&B rooms Wendy Stephens - 9 Nov 2003 16:26 |
