Quite large, inter-war McMullens 200 yards off the High Street in a residentail area of Old Stevenage. Very comfortable, with a bit of Sky Sports to keep us entertained, at an agreeably respectable volume. I'd guess this was a locals' pub, unlike those on the nearby High Street. Barman wasn't over-friendly. But if I lived around the corner I'd be happy to have this as my local. Number11 - 23 Dec 2014 18:50 |
Went there at the weekend to see local band The Ska Faces, who were excellent. Locals seem friendly, apart from a couple who had a minor skirmish outside. GaryB007 - 22 Dec 2014 16:44 |
There seems to be two sides to the pub. I went in the right side. It seemsed if you wanted to be served then you had to press the bell! There was a dart board and TV. The pub was quiet though, not that meany people there. Inside they have some good stuff on the walls of old sports people liken a god picture of Nigel Mansell & Damon Hill. Good to look at if you're into that suuff. Beers on offer were McMullens AK, Country Best Bitter and their special (I can;t remember name sorry). They were all quite nice though. All usual drinks too. I give 6/10. NeilA - 21 May 2006 01:25 |
