RIP. While never the greatest pub in Pinner, at least this offered an alternative and a half decent beer garden. The choice is now left between the dreary misanthropy of the Queen's Head and the markedly warmer welcome at the superior Oddfellows. Alehound - 23 Aug 2013 13:13 |
And being demolished as I write this. I hope that certain people at Harrow council feel proud of themselves, as they give the go ahead for the purging of pub after pub in the borough. Perry - 16 Jul 2013 20:16 |
The owner of The George has won planning permission to convert to offices, so expect this to be the next pub to bite the dust. Perry - 30 Jan 2013 18:18 |
pubs new owners have a very strong drugs policy in print however the blind eye is constantly turned as to throw ppl out is to loose money the new manager has a very shady alter ego and is not very well suited to public relations especiall with females. and was actually arrested in the pub last week for something which he will not discuss (abit dodgey) when i asked him about it. italian football and lack of atmosphere my recommendation don't bother! truthfulldrinker - 16 May 2011 23:53 |
'The George' is now King George IV. It's been taken over, and run by an honest Asian family since around June 2009. They offer a zero tolerance drug policy and are very social people. They offer a wide range of foods, from homemade curries to indian snacks - as well as all your traditional pub meals. Burgers, steak, scampi and everyones good old roast on a Sunday. Still known for it's football fanatics, it gets a good, decent crowd in for the large screen they have to offer. Many locals enjoy their daily drinks in here, and talking to them their enjoying it more now with the new family running it then they ever have in 5, 10, 15 or for some, 20+ years. Unfortunately this venue does have a bad reputation, but this is strictly from the previous licensees' and not from the current. I for one enjoy socialising in this pub, and I know the 50 faces minimum it sees every single day enjoy it too. Get rid of this bad name for this small local - Pinner is dying and needs to be brought back to life. Keyteee - 31 Jan 2010 20:06 |
