It has now be bulldozed and turned into a LIDL store. Poggle - 30 Aug 2010 20:45 |
A haven for thugs and lowlifes. Was at its worst in the summer months when the lout element stood outside in the hot weather. Wasn't unknown for innocent passers by to be physically attacked. It was a fine buildling and from an architectural point of view it's shame it has gone. However it is better this way than to have the yobs in there attacking innocent members of the public. There was no control over them and as the problems were not going to be dealt with it brought about its own downfall. Sorry but any old regulars reading this should realise this fact and maybe they could have done more to keep the scum element out. Barnehurst79 - 29 Jul 2009 02:58 |

This will probably be the last posting for 'The ROBIN HOOD' (apart from, perhaps, its obituary) I understand that it has closed down for good as from last month, February 2005!!! I can confirm that it is completely boarded up now and, so rumour has it, is to be demolished and (surprise, surprise) more flats/houses to be erected on its site. The latest - but probably not the last - pub in the borough to fall foul of the property developers bulldozer! (Remember the 'Chequers', the 'Pipers','Merry Fiddlers', 'The Volunteer' et al.?) I hear that others are on the boroughs 'hit list' Watch this space - property developers are! anonymous - 4 Mar 2005 14:29 |
