closed. was either a reasonably funky, veering to twinky and irritating sort of twentysomething gay bar ... i think it was part of the same group that owned kudos. benscaro - 10 May 2012 17:14 |
Gone down hill. Avoid the food, the weekend menu is limited and the food is rather plastic. I've now ended up twice with bad experiences with the food, firstly a vegi roast 'meat' gravy on it... which bit of vegi was not understood. The second a chicken soup on the menu, which arrived as mint and pea, an easy mistake you might say but when staff just gave you a dumb look - oh its the wrong menu. Surely they should know what menu is on today, considering its such a limited. The beer is expensive and the decor now getting grubby. pioneer - 21 Jun 2009 12:39 |
Love this place now...used to hate it. Gone are the old obnoxious mirrors, attitude and wanna be attitude of days of old! It is nothing more than fun.....A must for any occassion! Eastmatt - 15 Nov 2008 07:15 |
Nice place, apart from the huge mirrors. Fairly pricey, but then this is Islington! sifr - 15 Dec 2005 12:57 |
This is just what Islington needed, a "straight friendly" Gay bar that is tastefully decorated, chilled out with low music so that you can still talk and serving the most fantastic food. It is very much a bar rather than a full blown restaurant with a great selection of beers many of which are a nice surpise to find Pauliner, Cruz Campo etc. The menu isn't too vast and certainly not over priced, they seem to prefer to offer a small selection of bar food (mini Fajitas, Feta Parcels), a selection of 5 or 6 starters and 10 or so mains ranging from cod steak with tomoato and Aubergine to Steak or Seafood Linguine with a few puddings to round the meal off. Very well recommended. Lee Wilson - [email protected] - 12 Aug 2005 16:00 |
