Hello all from western Canada I for one miss the Orange Tree I spent Many a night there (I MEAN MANY) when the Fosters ran it I made a great many friends there and drank a lot of Strong Bow. I sure would and have recommended the bar to many Canadians If I get back to the UK this summer I will be there again I hope some of the same old gang are still ? my rating then 10 out of 10 From the Canadian with the shot up right leg theminder - 22 Jan 2012 21:23 |
The service in this pub is awful. Only 2 miserable women working on a Friday night. I tipped well, but even that didnt crack a smile. The glasses were not cleared all night. Empty pint pots all over the pub,its a wonder there was not an accident. MotherManchester - 5 Nov 2011 15:09 |
My second visit to this pub and nothing much had changed in four or five years! My Copper Dragon Golden Pippin was fine and I sat quietly and watched the Sky sports news and read the local CAMRA newsletter. Not a bad little boozer with a pleasant interior in contrast to the pub next door. Probably just about worth the walk up from the tram/train station. mcroyal - 20 Mar 2011 09:48 |
slightly random and pikey, only saving grace is its next door to ishta silvershower - 13 Jan 2011 16:23 |
Has a much more limited real ale than the Old Market Tavern nextdoor, but the welcome is slightly nicer and the interior is more comfortable. Copper Dragon Golden Pippin, Deuchars IPA and Shepherd Neame Spitfire were the 3 available real ales on our Saturday afternoon visit. TVs were showing sporting events - 1 football and 1 cricket. There are 4 or 5 separate drinking areas. We sat in a small alcove with leather sofas and a display cabinet featuring old handpulls, beer bottles and Good Beer Guides. The clientele was mostly middle age. blue_scrumpy - 5 Jul 2010 20:45 |
