| This pub is set in a northern suburb of Southport with a very nice villagey feel. The pub is situated on the fork of a junction and is reasonably big. On Boxing Day evening, it was busy with punters watching Liverpool play live on the TV. Service was prompt. But the beer selection wasn't brilliant - Tetleys Bitter & Mild & Marstons EPA. | Good ales, excellent food prices and deals with always a selection of guest ales. Has had a refurbishment and is a regular in the Good Beer Guide by Camara. | Great pub fantastic location full of charm. I wish the landlord would show some effort. Went in on a friday night it was crowded at the bar with men in filthy workwear one man still covered in paint even in his hair the bar was surrounded by them mud everywhere. I would suggest they are respectfully asked to drink in the vaults. This pub has that facility and should use it.Couples arriving for a meal and night out were leaving and I dont blame them.
