It took me three attempts to find the car park outside this pub. You can easily see it from the main road but need to access it from the back roads. Bright inside, lots of aircraft artefacts including engine cowling used for seating. Along the length of the bar is the side of an airplane with world time clocks in the windows. A wall-mounted fire gives a warm cosy feel Condiments were new and still sealed. And with pleasant staff made this seem to be one of the better 'spoons. fugglehops - 14 Jan 2018 16:38 |
It looks nice - but awful customers. especially those who stay in the budget Travel Lodge opposite - offensive and obnoxious. hertsboy - 8 Jan 2017 16:24 |
Huge hangar of a pub opposite The Galleria. Lots of gleaming metal, and feels like the canteen of a City bank, except the customers are the usual Wetherspoons mix of students, OAPs and winos. Still 12 real ales in a dump like Hatfield must be a good thing. My pint of Pompey Royal was a bit tired unfortunately, but the other brew whose name escapes me was fine. Not much competition in the town if you're a real ale fan, but the Horse & Groom in the old town has real ale and historical appeal. Number11 - 17 Mar 2016 16:37 |
New Wetherspoons that opened in 2015. Large, bright and spacious with a decent range of real ales. Usual menu of good food at reasonable cost. Good pub in a beer desert. Realalecat - 23 Feb 2016 18:17 |
