The Hub has changed hands and is now called Albert's Schenke. It's a German-themed bar, where the emphasis is still very much on food. 2 real ales were on - Mobberley Brewhouse Concept #35 English IPA & Liverpool Brewing 24 Carat Gold. But there is a much larger selection of craft beers and plenty of bottles and cans in the fridges. Service was slow and prices are sufficient to deter a return visit. £11+ for a schooner and a can seemed excessive. blue_scrumpy - 20 Dec 2019 20:32 |
Went to the Hub for a family meal. As lezford says, it is really a restaurant rather than a pub. The food was fine but took 45 mins to arrive. Drinks were expensive. I had a pint of Curiosity IPA which was very nice. wirraldrinker - 13 Mar 2017 10:38 |
I knew this pub was more of a foodie place but I wasn't expecting how much of a food lead place it was. About 6pm on a Friday in late September & there wasn't a seat in sight that wasn't taken or reserved for diners. A large queue at the bar so we turned on our heels and headed to the Bridewell....the Hub remains unticked. lezford - 10 Dec 2015 16:12 |
