Very quiet during the day. Good bitter and good food though. Decent enough staff. Would recommend. pubking78 - 17 Mar 2014 13:41 |
Visited on Saturday evening as one of the pubs on a bit of a crawl through Brighton. First thing that we noticed on entering the pub was an aroma of vomit - not nice at all! We ordered at the bar and found a seat at the back of the pub, as it was very busy, but the smell was quite overpowering all through the pub resulting in us downing our pints rather quickly and leaving for a pub with more of a pleasant aroma. Cracking bit of stuff behind the bar though - it looked like Telly Savalas and Yul Brynner were having a bit of a party under her rather skimpy vest top! Due to the smell will have to give quite a low score and probably won't rush back in a hurry. chunkypetersplat - 2 Dec 2013 12:56 |
Popped in yesterday afternoon for a quick pint. A large pub which obviously had the Youngs makeover a few years ago but is now in need of some update. The standard Youngs beers were on offer, although the Special was off. My pint of Ordinary (3.20) was in excellent condition. The pub was very quiet so I assume it does most of its trade in the evening. Overall not a bad pub and worth a visit if you like Youngs. Sussexcrawler - 11 Apr 2012 18:20 |
A big pub with a warm, friendly atmosphere, although we found the bar staff slightly stand-offish, despite their efficient service. A good range of food. No guest beers that I could see, although the Bombardier was fine. We enjoyed the jazz and noted that they had plenty of events/gigs etc arranged throughout the week.
