Excellent pub. the best real ale venue in Wolverhampton in my opinion. 10 different real ales. all in great condition. Can get busy as it is only a small room. hollybush33 - 22 Sep 2024 19:23 |
Black Country Ales pub in the centre of Wolverhampton, which was one of very few to open at lunchtime on New Year's Day. I was relatively impressed. There was a decent beer selection on, despite it apparently being a late night session, the evening before. The range was Mobberley Brewhouse Solstice, Beowulf Dark Raven, Downton Hopoholic, Newbridge Solaris, Black Country Ales Fireside, BFG & Pig On The Wall, Oakham JHB & Salopian Lemon Dream. The real cider was Thistly Cross Whisky Cask. I'll look forward to returning here. blue_scrumpy - 1 Feb 2018 20:42 |
Typical Black Country Ales Pub. Large choice of relatively unheard of breweries from anywhere in the UK. Surprised to see a household name brew in Purtity Mad Goose on offer. Looked fantastic. Smelt not so good. Good pubby experience and I would come back. Visit Blogged at http://bit.ly/2ur3X4D Mappiman - 30 Jun 2017 14:59 |
In a town of QEII proportioned theme pubs and dire Wetherspoons, I'm told that this is where you should go on a visit to the city. Good - with a great range of interesting ales - I had a half of a raspberry wheat beer (this was ale and not anything like a Belgian Frambozen). Friendly service and a few old lags were propping up the bar of a Monday lunchtime. BoehmBawerk - 22 Mar 2017 13:06 |
Excellent pub with a choice of good-value and very well kept real ales. Cosy and relaxing atmosphere with efficient service. A 'must visit' when in Wolverhampton. 10/10. wobblybob - 5 Oct 2016 22:41 |
