Excellent shop conversion micropub. Had a very pleasant pale Ossett brew here. Snarling_Mallard - 9 Sep 2019 20:13 |
This Wirral micropub has been named local CAMRA pub of the year and it's easy to see why. The ale and cider selection is small. But what I had was good quality. Unlike many micropubs, this one does feel like a pub, probably due to its fairly traditional bar area. There is plenty of seating, both at the front and at a slightly more cosy area at the rear. Ales were Holt's Bitter, Salopian Oracle, Big Hand Little Monkey & George Wright Norther Lights. Cider was Seacider Medium. Locals seemed a friendly bunch with a sense of humour. A place I'm sure I'll be back to. blue_scrumpy - 19 Jul 2017 19:33 |
I do like the Lazy Landlord. It is a refreshing change (no pun intended!) when compared to other local hostelries. I have been visiting this micropub for the last few years; there does seem to be a number of regulars that drink here but it also has a welcoming atmosphere for any new visitors. The only thing that would increase my enjoyment would be for the beer temperature to be a little cooler; but that's my personal preference. If you want to have a quiet pint on your own or to enjoy a chat with another customer, then the Lazy Landlord's the place to go. YesThatWouldBeNice - 16 Sep 2016 17:37 |
When someone told me that a micropub called the Lazy Landlord was due to open in Liscard and that it's licensee was one Lenny Henry I was, to say the least, rather sceptical! A year or two on and I'm happy to report that Lenny (and brother Mike) run an excellent establishment free from tellies, loud music and lager. Good quality Cask ales and a trad cider are the order of the day and the "Lazy" is an oasis of calm and good cheer in a part of the world not noted for the quality of its pubs. founddrunkinyourgarden - 27 Jul 2016 12:54 |
