Yes, it's a 'local' and in fact nothing more or less. It's there if that's what you want, but don't go there if you want the 'youth' scene or things of that ilk.

And for that reason I wonder about its future.

This blog is in reply to vinneys message 04th Jan 2009. I deeply sympathize with your son as to have something so drastic happen must be not only painful but emotionally and physically scarring. But I must say that I have been a local in the Black Boy for many years and have not heard of any such a thing happening . Someone getting their ear bitten off would usually spark gossip and I have never heard of such an event happening in the Black Boy, Sidcup.

The Black Boy is itself a pub for Locals but people from all around are always made welcome. We have great diversity and a mixture of people from all races and religions who all get on like family.

The new land lady June is a pleasure to drink with and bar lady Gene is always smiling when pouring you a pint. You feel welcome when drinking in the Black Boy and for those who think otherwise, just try and say hello to someone sometime. You will always be greeted with a smile and a reply and maybe also a challenge on the pool table from one of our very competent locals.

We go to the Black Boy so we can relax in peace and stray from the misses nagging, I also ensure all that read this that having my ear bitten off is not my idea of peace and quiet.

So to all that read this, please pop down for a pint and a game of pool sometime. I bid you a good evening.

And no they do not serve food, June prepares rolls which are on sale for 1.00 and the usual selection of crisps and nuts are of course available.

And one final message to our dear friend and local Paul Tats, we all miss you and wish you a speedy recovery. The takings are down sice you left and we have had to let 2 bar staff go :0p

Regards

Mart

Yeah id definitly go along with that one dan. Always a friendly face in their to greet you. The 1950's decor is fantastic (cheers dave), the little ones can enjoy going to the park where all the chavs off the estate go and swing on the broken aparatus. Karaoke is a good night, and at 3.10 a pint you cant go wrong. See you in their Friday dan. 8pm?
