This was one of the highlights of my tour around South East London pubs added to the latest 2020 Good Beer Guide. It's now owned by the Southey Brewery (formerly Late Knights). Their Sephina was on cask, in addition to Marble Pint & Nene Valley Australian Pale Ale. It was also the first pub where I'd found a real cider. This was Sandford Orchards Devon Mist. A number of Southey beers were on keg - Ursus III Oatmeal Stout, Hazy Jesus & Lazy Jesus. There was also Thornbridge Satsuma & Wild Beer Bibble & Sleeping Lemons. There were only 2 other customers inside. But, I believe there was a larger group in the outdoor courtyard at the rear. The barman was friendly and professional. Decent place. blue_scrumpy - 22 Sep 2019 13:15 |
Really good version of the new type of local brew pubs. Beers on tap and from the barrel - not all perfect, but much better than so many of the soulless places in the centre of Brighton. And, you can stand outside and admire the view of the power station chimney (er, the i360 monstrosity)... alebarry - 10 Sep 2016 19:14 |
A visit last Thursday night with the wife for a few beers and food. My pints of Brockley Brewery’s Red Ale were all on good form however I was a little disappointed to find only 3 ales on cask, but they did have another 5 on keg . I haven’t eaten here since they added to the burger menu, both of our burgers were excellent. Stayed for 2 and a half hours and it got quite busy, food was popular. Still my local favourite. lezford - 27 Jun 2016 12:39 |
Popped in on a Saturday afternoon recently and enjoyed a couple of pints of Late Knights Peckham Rye IPA @ 6.3%. Filled up during the hour I spent here, mainly with “hip” young groups and couples. A great bar, cracking beer and a stone’s throw from my house. If you haven’t been it’s a must visit. lezford - 23 May 2016 15:06 |
Dropped in twice on a Saturday a few weeks back, once at 2.30pm and the other at 6pm at both times it was pretty busy. It’s been a short while since I’ve been in, reliable if some what uninspiring ales on during this visit, my choices were Brick Brewery Red Brick Rye @ 5.1% & Late Knights Morning Glory….the morning glory is always a dependable pint. Rugby being shown on the tv in the back seating area and burgers being served in the front bar. The LBD is going from strength to strength and is a welcome addition to Crofton Park. lezford - 7 Mar 2016 16:39 |
