Very smartly revamped since my last visit a few years ago A typical upper class villagers pub,no riff raff only hoity toity locals dining out Not really a place to go for a few pints alone or with mates it’s mostly a restaurant and quite pricey wooser - 6 Oct 2022 22:09 |
Oops I meant "we ate something non-descript" - Freudian slip. Arf arf. Old_King_Cole - 26 Oct 2015 21:40 |
Visited early summer. It's off the beaten track in what looks like a pleasant village. The garden is getting overgrown and is on the slide. The garden furniture is looking very tired. Beer was OK but not quite cold enough (poured from kegs being bar) but in good condition. We are something non-descript that we can't remember. Went for a lovely walk along the Fleet afterwards. When we got back two hours later for a soft drink our plates were still on the table in the garden where we left them. No wonder there's wasps. The above may sound damning but despite all of this I'd still recommend a visit. It's probably how a lot of places were run in the 70s. The locations great and they're trying with the beer. I do wonder if that is where too much of the time and interest is going. It would not take much to nudge this place in the right direction. A generous 7/10. Old_King_Cole - 26 Oct 2015 21:38 |
