| Situated right next to the Ibis Hotel in which I was staying the night, I decided to give the Advocate a go since dinner wasn't included in my stay. I'm glad I did as I entered this spacious hostelry which felt right. Even on a Sunday evening, the pub was pretty well populated and I sat up at the bar and chatted to the friendly barman who recommended the Advocate Ale which I enjoyed very much. It was a fairly dark bitter and was in good nick as was my choice of steak & ale pie for dinner. Soon I was joined by a friendly couple for Chicago and a pleasant evening developed.
