We visited this pub on 14th September 2012, the day before we were due to go home and wish we'd discovered it earlier. Views are stunning and the food was delicious. I had quiche and the portion was so big by the time I was full it looked like I had hardly eaten anything. We would highly recommend this pub and would definitely visit again when we are down that way. bee171 - 15 Sep 2012 14:44 |
Lovely views. Thats about it really. We ordered 3 meals - Fat Sausages, Lasagna and Cottage Pie. The Lasagna was delicious but if it wasnt for the large portion of chips and side salad would have been very small (10.50). The Fat sausages were cheap supermarket own brand sausages (8.50). The cottage pie was an insult. My 10 year old ate the lot - that's how big it was! I piddly little portion of cottage pie mainly mash potato, hardly any mince with a small portion of pes (10.50). We mentioned to the staff about the cottage pie but they didnt give a damn. If you want to sit and have a drink with a beautiful view then come here but dont bother to eat. lyppy - 24 Jul 2012 21:26 |
Have to agree was once a good pub fantastic views ever changing staff so atmosphere is whens shift finishing attitude and drinks are expensive but as was once said here you pays for the view and also the extension or what i think is the Ocean bar all sky and football me thinks. Food is plainly average and deep fried fare if thats your choice . Ale is ok not kept in excellent condition as am certain through put of ale drinkers is limited maily lager pub tho several hand pumps on tap ususal Doom Bar Skinners choice, gjgj1 - 15 Apr 2012 12:27 |
What a waste of a great location. Horrible "high street bar" feel to the interior of the pub. Best avoided. beermaddie4 - 28 Dec 2011 16:01 |
Just to let everyone know that Two for 10 Lunch menu is still available Mon-Fri 12-2pm. Lots of Great Football coming up in the next few weeks on Sky and ESPN and to remind you that many of the games are available in 3D here at The Bowgie. Jam Sessions continue on Thursday and Live Bands on Fridays! sallypickles - 26 Sep 2011 21:42 |
