Having read all the previous reviews, I can honestly say I agree 100%! I've recently returned from a fantastic 4-night stay at the Atholl Arms where the Bothy Bar became my local each night. Quite simply, it's one of the nicest pubs I've ever supped in! And pub it is too with the look and ambience of a country inn. I tried all the Moulin ales during my stay except the Old Remedial and plumped mainly for the Braveheart and Ale of Atholl which were all in top order and delicious. The tour manager and I also dined there on two evenings and our food was delicious, piping hot and well-served. The staff in the Bothy were all very friendly and efficient as were all the staff in the hotel. The Atholl Arms is a wonderful place to stay and is really handy for the station which you can see from the windows. Definitely a 10 from me! roobs52 - 1 Oct 2016 22:39 |
A hugely impressive hotel and restaurant with a couple of bars. I walked through the main entrance and witnessed the first bar to the left. For the Bothy Bar, head right through the large restaurant and turn left at the end through another large dining room. You'll then find the Bothy Bar with plenty of tables and lots of little corners with seating. The bar stocks the same Moulin ales as brewed at the Moulin Inn - Old Remedial, Ale of Atholl, Braveheart & Moulin Light. Right next to Blair Atholl station, this pub is also worth a visit if you can't make it to the Moulin Inn. Moved on from here to the Bridge of Cally Hotel (not listed on here). blue_scrumpy - 31 Jul 2015 18:33 |
Holidayed nearby almost 3 years ago and used the Bothy Bar regularly, eating there twice. I occasionally drive up to Inverness and stop here for refreshment and also stretch my legs with a short stroll down to the fast-flowing River Garry. The entrance to the bar is from the beer garden to the right of the grand-looking hotel and the ales here are brewed at the Moulin Inn in Pitlochry which is under the same ownership and the menus are also similar. Both food and drink are very palatable at sensible prices and there is always a friendly welcome. Only the small matter of just over 450 miles from home precludes me from visiting more often. yellowfever - 5 Mar 2015 17:49 |
Just on the 'Heads Up' side. I suggested this pub to 'BITE' and it has taken them 2 years to add it to the site.......shame.... wolvesfan - 20 Aug 2012 20:47 |
