visited last Friday on a mini rail ale crawl, the copper dragon best was rated best pint of the day.about three quarters of a mile from rail station but worth the walk.on the main bus route.

Excellent food and beer, the landlord is very welcoming and the beer is also excellent quality and there is also a great varied selection. What a great pub to have as your local who could ask for more

This is now a pub, rather than a club. It still has the one single room, but does feel more like a pub than a club. The interior is quite cosy and quirky and the landlord was welcoming. Ales were Thwaites Bruges Up, Roosters Special, Copper Dragon Best Bitter, Jennings Red Rascal & JW Lees Hoptimist. A bit out of the way. But worth the visit. Whilst the Bruges Up was fine, I did hear comments in later pubs saying that the beer was poor quality here. I would recommend them to give it another try.

Went to a silver wedding do. Let's assume the bar & food takings were 2,000 for the night. Still didn't stop him charging 1/pint for TAP WATER.
Never again.

Highly disappointing visit here last Friday. My first pint of cask ale was past its best and starting to turn vinous. The second was close to vinegar and undrinkable. Not what you expect from an outlet listed in the Good Beer Guide and a recent Camra Pub of the season winner. Most drinks were served in the wrong branded glassware and even the lager was cloudy! Topped off by no soap and no poo paper in the gents. I should have spoken to the licensee but got the impression he really didn't care. So I'll be avoiding here in future. Whilst we can all have our 'off days' its hard to believe that outlets with such poor retail standards will survive.
