user reviews of Sixty Million Postcards, Bournemouth

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Part of a chain (we think it's M&B) but a fun outlet with 3 real ales including the very mind-blowing Shanaker IPA from Great Heck Brewery (6%) Outside seating at the front; plenty of junk around the place which gives it its atmospehere. Food is interesting including macaroni cheese in various guises. I have used the Oakford Social Club in Reading which is the same chain and the beer there has always been good so this place is welcome in Bournemouth. We sat and watched them building the two new Hilton hotels across the road !

CAMRA would hate this pub; it's pretty much perfect in every way.

A superb range of drinks; wheat beer, fruit beer, good lagers, stout, IPA, etc. A bottled beer menu wide range of bottles from around the world which would even put many specialist London pubs to shame.

They've really gone overboard with the decoration as well; a spectacularly fun and welcoming place to drink, and the bar staff are very friendly as well.

I'm still prepared to gave them ten out of ten even though they don't have a pool table, which is previously unheard of from me. Obviously you only get the chance to visit a tiny fraction of all of the pubs which are out there during your lifetime, but from my personal experience I would say that this is easily one of the top ten pubs in the country.

Arty, studenty, wouldn't look out of place in Camden. Love the mismatched decor and the alternative music played over the speakers during the day. And the carousel horse above the door!

This is a painfully hip and arty bar/bistro/club/live venue, in a building that looks like a huge, graffiti'd garage on the way to West Cliff from the Square.

The selection of beers and ciders is one of the wider in town, if rather pricey. The food menu is quite reasonably priced.

Seating runs to comfy sofas and chintzy lampshades. The twee theme is continued with jumble sales, cake sales and the like (really).

The live acts aren't always completely weird, and can sometimes
be quite good.

Definitely not for everybody (the toilets are downright disturbing).
