| Tonight myself and 9 work colleagues went to this pub for tea and drinks. After spending a few hours there some people left and paid for their meals separately as they went. As the final few started to walk out of the door what I believe was the landlady very abruptly shouted that we had not paid for 1 of the desserts. We explained that we didn't think this was possible as we had all paid for exactly what we had and she continued to loudly and rudely say that we hadn't paid. We agreed to pay even though we know it was a mistake and she then went on to complain that we should have all paid the bill at once. Her manner was horrendous and as I drove out of the car park she sat outside and glared at us. First and last time we will go there! Shocked at her disgusting manner! rose468 - 17 Jul 2014 22:20 |
| Excellent food and friendly helpful staff. We were a party of 4 with a small dog looking for food after a long walk. We had seen negative comments on the internet but decided to see for ourselves ~so glad we did ~ would definitely visit again ! loxleeeeeeee - 29 May 2014 22:55 |
| Bit of a fall from grace this one. Refurbished to be more of a food pub. Whilst they still maintain a selection of cask ales, the problem is, as I understand it, the pub has a manager who works for a pub company (can't remember the name), which in turn lease the property from Punch Taverns. | Terrible! I recently attempted to book the function room for a 21st birthday party and not only were we refused, the landlady was very rude! Such a shame as we have enjoyed many plesant evenings in this pub before. We will be drinking in the leeds arms from now on! Carbonara - 29 Oct 2013 10:09 |
| I popped in for a quick lunchtime pint. They had Tetley's, Directors and Calvesgon on tap. Bar maid wouldn't let me try the Calveston (computer says no). I plumped for the Tetley's ; tasted like vinegar. Place was empty. Avoid. n14paul - 10 May 2012 15:46 |
