| After finally finding Que Pasa Cantina on Lark Lane open, I moved onto Woolton, another area of Merseyside I'd yet to visit. The Gardener's Arms was the first of two pubs I sampled here and I felt it was the better of the two. Although I believe it's the sister pub to the White Horse, which was my second pub. The Gardener's is situated in a residential area and has a fairly modern feel and looks as if it had been done out recently. The range of ales was better here than in the White Horse - Marston's 61 Deep, Greene King IPA, Sharp's Doom Bar, Thwaite's Bee's Knees, Big Bog Jack O'Lantern & Purple Moose Elderflower Ale. | This is a pleasant pub. Nicely renovated and retaining a country pub atmosphere. There is no music... Great. The beer is usually decent. The tenants are pleasant enough if they serve you but display no interest in you ...after 2 years still don't know your name...this is a small pub. | This pleasant little pub is a roll down the hill from the County Court and like all good pubs has a landlord and landlady who make time to make you feel at home.The real ale was very good and the not too obtrusive tellies had the Thursday night European football on. shouldersarms - 4 Oct 2011 17:09 |
